Doug Jones: If Tuberville Thinks ‘Social Security Is a Scam,’ Your State Retirement Is Next
"This week is the 91st anniversary of when Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act," Jones told the crowd. "And I mentioned that not just because it's so important to so many people, probably including a lot of people in this room, but the fact that we've got a United States senator running for governor who stood on the floor of the United States Senate the other day with a big poster that said ‘Social Security is a scam,’ a ‘Ponzi scheme.’

PRESS RELEASE
Doug Jones: Alabama Is Ready to Move Beyond Divisive Politics
"There's no question Tommy Tuberville is trying to throw us back into an era of hate, of division, of an Alabama that everybody sees as us versus them, good versus evil," Jones told Sharpton. "But that's not the people of Alabama that I know."

Doug Jones: "Tuberville would know all about scams"

PRESS RELEASE
Statement from Doug Jones Following Dismissal of Tuberville’s Residency Case
“Since our campaign began, we’ve been building a movement to win at the ballot box on November 3rd. Nothing about today’s decision changes our plan. It’s more than evident that Tommy Tuberville doesn't live in Alabama, but the real issue is how out of touch he is with everyday Alabamians. While he’s focused on helping his powerful friends, we’re focused on lowering costs, strengthening our schools, saving rural hospitals, and making government work for the people. We will keep showing up for the people of Alabama every day.”
PRESS RELEASE

PRESS RELEASE
Statement by Doug Jones on the Supreme Court's Campaign Finance Ruling
"Once again the Supreme Court just made it even easier for big money to have outsized influence in our elections. By lifting limits on how political parties can spend money in coordination with candidates, the Court has handed wealthy donors and special interests more ways to pour unlimited money into our elections."
PRESS RELEASE
Doug Jones Statement on the Supreme Court's Mail-in Ballot Decision
"This week, the same Supreme Court that gutted the Voting Rights Act earlier this year rejected Republicans' most recent attempt to make voting harder for Americans. By a narrow 5-4 margin, the Court allowed the counting of mail-in ballots postmarked by but received after Election Day. I am relieved by the Court's decision, but this is not the time to celebrate."
PRESS RELEASE
Doug Jones’ Statement on the Supreme Court's Decision Upholding Birthright Citizenship
While Justice Kavanaugh joined the majority in blocking Trump’s executive order, he based his reasoning on federal statute rather than the Constitution. Trump is now pressuring Congress to jockey around with the plain meaning of the 14th Amendment and pass unconstitutional legislation ending birthright citizenship. I will fight those efforts. Our Constitution, not politicians trying to consolidate power, must decide who is a citizen."

PRESS RELEASE
Statement from Doug Jones Regarding the Latest Legislative PSC Con Job
“If you want to see a con job, watch what's happening in the Alabama legislature about the Public Service Commission. Rep. Mack Butler's HB 475 that passed the House was a good bill. For the first time in over 40 years, Alabamians had a real chance to get a formal rate case where power companies would have to justify their rates in public. When that bill got to the Senate, Republican leadership not only gutted the requirement of a rate case from HB 475 but added their PSC packing plan to increase the PSC from 3 to 7 members with Governor Ivey appointing four seats this summer before the election. The substitute would also effectively put control of the PSC in the hands of a non-elected “energy secretary”
