Same Place, New History: Doug Jones to Host Election Night Watch Party at the Sheraton Birmingham

Birmingham, AL – Doug Jones kicked off his campaign for governor in Birmingham on December 12, 2025, eight years to the day after Alabama elected him to the U.S. Senate. On November 3, he will return to the Sheraton Birmingham for his election night watch party, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Ballroom 2, the same room where he celebrated his historic 2017 victory.

“A lot of people counted us out in 2017, and a lot of people are counting us out now,” Jones said. “In 2017, Alabama shocked the nation, and I believe the people of this state are about to surprise them again.”

During his campaign for governor, Jones has traveled across Alabama, doing more listening than talking. Since July 1, he has held more than 20 town halls and traveled by campaign bus all over the state, from the Shoals down through the Black Belt and the Wiregrass to the Gulf Coast.

“I have always believed that we have more in common than divides us, and I’ve seen that at every town hall, every Donuts with Doug, and every rally,” Jones said. “Alabamians are tired of us vs. them politics, and they are tired of having a government in Montgomery that doesn’t listen to them. Alabamians are ready for change.”

If elected, Jones would be Alabama’s first Democratic governor in nearly 24 years.

The watch party is free and open to the public.
