PRESS RELEASE

Doug Jones, Jason Isbell Head to Mobile for “Rally for Alabama”

Mobile, AL — Doug Jones is bringing the campaign to Mobile on Wednesday, September 23, for a free, public rally at Crown Hall featuring Grammy Award-winning Alabama native Jason Isbell. The “Rally for Alabama” will kick off the final stretch of Jones’ campaign for governor, with Isbell performing a special 30-minute set.

“We’ve been all over this state talking to folks, answering their questions and asking for their vote. We’re not letting up,” Jones said. “Tommy Tuberville can hide from voters and refuse to answer their questions. That’s his choice. I’m going to keep showing up, looking people in the eye and earning their vote. South Alabama has been good to me for a long time, and I’m ready to get back to Mobile and kick off this final stretch.”

Isbell has supported Jones since his 2017 U.S. Senate campaign and performed at Jones’ gubernatorial campaign kickoff in Birmingham last December. A native of Green Hill in North Alabama, Isbell has built a celebrated career as one of the South’s most acclaimed songwriters, often drawing on the people, places and experiences of his Alabama roots.

“I support Doug because he’s a smart man who actually cares about the people of Alabama, even the ones that sometimes disagree with him,” Isbell said.

Jones has spent the summer traveling the state, holding town halls and taking questions directly from voters in communities large and small. Now, with Election Day approaching, the campaign is shifting into its final push, with rallies planned across Alabama in the weeks leading up to November 3.

“Jason’s been with me since 2017, and that means a lot to me,” Jones said. “He loves this state, he understands its people, and he tells their stories in a way very few people can. I’m damn proud to have him with us as we head into this final stretch.”

The rally is free and open to the public. Tickets are available at dougjones.com/rally.
