Tuberville Won’t Debate. Doug Jones Will Put His Record on Trial Wednesday in Birmingham

Birmingham, AL – Tommy Tuberville won’t debate Doug Jones. So with Election Day just two weeks away, Jones is taking his case directly to the people of Alabama.

On Wednesday, October 21, at 6 p.m., former U.S. Attorney and U.S. Senator Doug Jones will take the stage at Birmingham’s historic Carver Theatre for Doug v. Tommy: Prosecuting the Case for Alabama. Drawing on his experience as a federal prosecutor, Jones will present video evidence of Tuberville’s own words and examine his record on issues that matter to Alabamians.

Jones will also outline his vision of Alabama’s future, including lowering costs for working families, expanding access to health care, strengthening public education and giving Alabama communities a greater voice in decisions that affect their lives.

Tuberville has refused to debate Jones for months. In August, he told reporters in Athens, Alabama, “There’s so much difference between us, I mean, there’s no reason to get up there and argue about differences of opinion.”

“The differences between Tommy and me are the whole point of this election,” Jones said. “Alabama voters deserve to see them side by side and decide what kind of future they want for this state.”
